Georgia Lawyer Assistance Program

The Georgia Lawyer Assistance Program provides a number of services, including a 24-hour hotline, three prepaid in-person counseling sessions, scheduled phone counseling sessions, and unlimited prepaid assistance with childcare, elder care, legal counseling and financial aid. They also hold weekly Lawyer Recovery Meetings.

To assist with the Georgia LAP, the State Bar contracts the services of Families First Employee Assistance Program, a Georgia-based counseling agency, to help provide confidential and professional help for its members.

The current chairperson is Robert T. Thompson Jr; a list of standing committee members and contact information is available on the Georgia State Bar website.
